“… for the people had a mind to work” Nehemiah 4:6
Thank you to all who supported the cause of cleaning and moving. Some helped with constructing, some with moving, some cleaning, some with supplying much needed coffee and snacks .May the Lord be glorified in our efforts and make the move positive step in our desire to serve the Lord Jesus and lift His name to those around us. Thank you Lord
It is a privilege to live in Canada. It is indeed a land of contrasts both in geography and people. But it is still a land where the comforts and well being of the individual is important. Not so in lands where Jesus Christ and the Bible are not reflected in the foundational principles.Take time to reflect on what Canada might be had not the principles of liberty- both civil and religious, individual opportunity for advancement , rewarding hard work and ingenuity, civil defence, and providing for the weak and helpless , been part of the fabric of thought . God gave it to us as an heritage both to understand and to defend. If we cannot see God in history, we miss the true meaning of ” His story” . The Bible is His story . Read it daily and let the Spirit move you to greatness of heart and deed. Pastor W Jones
Enter at the strait gate
This is found in Matthew’s record of Jesus’ words in chapter 7:13. The word “strait” is an old English word that means “narrow”. Not so much that it is easily missed, but not much desired because it is restrictive. If there is anything that the modern church tries hard not to be, it is restrictive. Self expression, self appreciation, self-love, self discovery, self esteem….is the theme. “Come and be comfortable while we entertain you -and hopefully emotionally touch you enough to make you give some offering-, give you a coffee and send you along smiling”. We need always to watch out for the tendency to get “comfortable with ourselves”. It is then that our old nature will draw us from God and we easily become a “castaway”- seeI Cor 9:27.
